A Shipper’s Checklist for Faster Freight Quotes

Why complete information matters

A freight rate is built from the route, capacity, cargo profile, timing and operational conditions. Missing details usually create revisions later.

1. Exact route

Share pickup and delivery pin codes, not only city names. Local access, distance from transport hubs and vehicle restrictions can affect the plan.

2. Cargo profile

Provide commodity, package type, count, weight and dimensions. Mention if cargo is fragile, high-value, hazardous, temperature-sensitive or stackable.

3. Timing

Include the ready date and required delivery window. A flexible timeline may create more economical options.

4. Loading conditions

Tell the team whether forklift, crane, labour, dock or ground loading is available at each location.

5. Commercial scope

Clarify whether you need door delivery, insurance coordination, customs support, storage or only terminal-to-terminal movement.

A complete first enquiry helps your logistics partner price the right plan instead of the cheapest incomplete plan.
